Nottingham Southside

Located in the city centre, a 3 minute walk from Nottingham station, Nottingham Southside provides an eclectic mix of architectural styles from Gothic to Contemporary. Bustling bars, cafes, boutique shops and a vibrant nightlife await! Ten Traffic Street is perfectly located for you to be able to access everything on your doorstep.

Nottingham Contemporary

  • A short walk from Ten Traffic Street is the Nottingham Contemporary, described by the Guardian as “the most inspiring gallery in the UK” offering international art for free. On route you will pass by Hopkinson, a favourite destination for vintage arts, clothing, and antiques where amazing finds are tucked away.

The Lace Market

  • Check out The Lace Market, full of boutiques, gastropubs and creative agencies and just next door, the Motorpoint Arena has a full line up of gigs and mini festivals to suit every music taste – as well as hosting local ice hockey games!

Nottingham nightlife

  • Nottingham offers a variety of music to satisfy everyone on any day of the week, and an enjoyable night out is guaranteed. If you like some familiarity from your hometown then visit Pryzm for well-known DJ’s. Or visit Stealth on a Tuesday if drum and bass is your favourite. For students Wednesday night is societies night, so you certainly won’t find yourself staying in on this evening. For top hits and R&B music then you’ll love Crisis or if you enjoy fancy dress then Ocean will be your go to.

If clubbing isn’t your thing, then don’t worry! Nottingham has a range of pubs and bars including Calluna, which offers a lively atmosphere, Pepper Rocks or the iconic Canal House if you prefer a cosier and more intimate vibe.

Nottingham is known for frequently hosting an array of events such as Cirque du Soul, Detonate and regular concerts from your favourite artists. So, gather all your friends and be prepared to dance the week away.

Nottingham has everything you could ask for in a city, without being too large or busy, like Birmingham or London. Public transport links are amazing, and it’s very easy to get across the city quickly.

There’s more to do in Nottingham…

  • History

Visit the abundance of conservation areas to see Nottingham Castle, the castle of Curious Rebels, that brings 1,000 years of history and creativity to life, where you can take a Cave tour and enjoy fantastic new galleries. Nearby you can also visit the oldest pub in England, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem.

  • Cycling

Connecting Crocus and Meadow is a sympathetically planted Avenue with ample social seating. We decided to name this area Raleigh Alley, after the prestigious Raleigh Bicycle Company, founded in 1885 and based in Nottingham. Here you will find a number of Raleigh bicycles available with our compliments. Cycling to University will not only improve your fitness, weekends can be spent touring local beauty spots with your roommates and an enthusiastic guide! You set the pace, enjoy a sprint or a leisurely ride, all courtesy of The Raleigh Alley Bicycle Club.

  • Coffee

For coffee lovers, or to while away the hours , 200˚ Degrees is the perfect place to press pause, and at Christmas time head to Old Market Square for Winter Wonderland and Christmas markets.

  • Football

Why not visit a football match at Nottingham Forest, twice champions of Europe or Notts County, the world’s oldest football league club.
